Bauer Media Publishing appoints Chief Data Officer and Chief Technology Officer
Hamburg, December 19, 2023 – At the end of November, the Bauer Media Group clearly expressed its ambition to transform faster and more radically exploit digital growth opportunities with its comprehensive rebranding. The company is now taking first tangible and structural steps with the appointment of a Chief Data Officer who is responsible for the whole Publishing Business and a Chief Technology Officer for the digital part of the Publishing Business.
Thomas Koschel transitions from BMG’s OCP team to join the Publishing business as Chief Data Officer. In this role, he will be responsible for all data related activities and drives the transformation towards a data-driven culture within the Publishing Business.

With the experiences from previous stations as co-founder of neo.eleven GmbH in 2017 and most recently Chief Data Officer of the Bauer Media Group's OCP business, Thomas Koschel not only has important start-up experience, but also the necessary skillset to operate successfully in large corporations. Prior to his time as co-founder of neo.eleven and Chief Data Officer at OCP, Thomas Koschel was Head of Business Analytics at ImmobilienScout24.

Before Hans Gruber joined Bauer Media Group in 2020 as CTO and later CTPO of the OCP business, he was CIO of Verivox GmbH for three years and previously Managing Director of eSailors IT solutions GmbH for three years.
